TAJMMAF summed up the results of the past season
The award ceremony took place in the capital's Parthenon restaurant. Athletes and coaches of the federation, the sports leadership of the republic and other guests were invited to the celebration.
Speaking to the audience, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee Abdullo Rakhmonzoda noted:
“Athletes of the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts performed well at international competitions, taking prizes and thereby raising the image of the country. The sport itself is developing at a rapid pace in Tajikistan, and this is thanks to the TAJMMAF federation and the fact that state standards for this sport have been introduced that control the rules of MMA. In addition, by promoting the idea of a healthy lifestyle and attracting hundreds of young people to sports, the leadership of the federation is fulfilling a noble mission. We hope and believe that you will achieve even greater success this year.”
The President of the Tajikistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation, Davron Juraev, in his speech noted the high results shown by TAJMMAF athletes in the past season:
“The main goal of the TAJMMAF Federation is the development and popularization of amateur mixed martial arts, enhancing the culture of MMA, as well as promoting physical culture, sports and a healthy lifestyle in society. For this purpose, sports complexes and halls are opened, training and work with young people is carried out, and the best athletes are sent to international competitions. In every competition, whether world-class or national, young fighters showed high skill and dedication.”
According to Davron Juraev, TAJMMAF athletes showed high results in 2022, winning 78 medals at international championships, including 24 gold, 18 silver and 36 bronze awards.
“When I saw our guys winning, I was overwhelmed with indescribable emotions. I, as the head of TAJMMAF, hope that our athletes will continue to bring prizes to our country. We are proud of them. After these victories, the influx and desire of those who want to engage in MMA will be greater,” said Davron Juraev.
The past season was a real breakthrough for the Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of Tajikistan. As TAJMMAF Executive Director Khushmakhmad Pirov noted, a number of results were achieved in 2022, indicating the increased level of skill of Tajik athletes and the large amount of work performed by the leadership of the federation.

“One of the significant successes of TAJMMAF was winning 2nd place among juniors and 3rd place among adult athletes at the World Championships in Serbia. The winners returned with 4 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals. This is an achievement that you can be proud of,” said Kh. Pirov.
As the executive director of TAJMMAF further noted, within the framework of the World Championship, the IMMAF AWARDS 2022 award ceremony was held, where the Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Tajikistan received a number of awards. The main award is “Best National Federation of the Year”, which was received by the Tajik MMA Federation. TAJMMAF also received the awards “Best Cutman” (a specialist who prepares an athlete for a fight), “Best Federation in Promoting Anti-Doping Programs” and “Best Knockout”.
In Tajikistan, the TAJMMAF Federation began its activities in 2016. Over the past years, a large number of memorandums have been signed, the Constitution of the Central Asian MMA Confederation has been adopted, regional representative offices have been opened in the cities of Dushanbe, Khujand, Kulyab, many athletes have received awards in the country and abroad. Thus, in 2022, the Tajik junior MMA team arrived from the World Championships in Abu Dhabi with 21 medals and 3rd place in the team competition.
In the fall, Tajikistan hosted the Asian MMA Championship among adults, organized by TAJMMAF. Despite the fact that it was held on the territory of Tajikistan for the first time, as experts noted, the organization and scale of the championship were at the highest level. The championship was broadcast in 13 countries in real time. The performance of Tajik athletes, who showed an incredible result, pleasantly surprised the refereeing commission, as well as the fans. Tajikistan won 35 medals: 9 gold, 8 silver, and 18 bronze. In the overall team competition among 13 participating countries, the Tajik team took 1st place.
On October 29, a meeting of the heads and members of federations of Asian countries was held at the DOROB sports holding, during which a new organization was formed - the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation (AMMAF). The central office of AMMAF will be located in the capital of Tajikistan - Dushanbe. Mohammad Qambar (Bahrain) was appointed President of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation. Several candidates were nominated for the position of first vice president of AMMAF. During discussions and general voting, TAJMMAF President Davron Juraev was appointed first vice-president of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation.
“By the decision of IMMAF and the Asian federations, we were given great responsibility in the formation and development of AMMAF. We will promote mixed martial arts, promote cooperation between judges, doctors and coaches, and together develop the younger generation to create champions. We are honored to be involved in the history of Asian MMA and take on the responsibility of being the location of the AMMAF General Headquarters. We are already working on vectors for the development of mixed martial arts on the Asian continent. We can say with confidence that the awards received were a well-deserved result of a fruitful 2022, there are many even more ambitious plans ahead that will be achieved, given the drive and desire of everyone involved in TAJMMAF,”

After the official announcements and speeches, an award ceremony took place for athletes, coaches and other representatives of TAJMMAF, to whom well-known fighters Nurullo Aliyev and Loik Radzhabov, who completed their debut at recent competitions in the world’s strongest mixed martial arts organization - UFC, addressed with best wishes and parting words.
