Tajikistan became the leader in the medal standings at the World MMA Championship in Albania
From November 19 to 25, 2023, in Tirana, the capital of Albania, a spectacular event took place for all fans of mixed martial arts - the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship for youth and adults. This tournament brought together more than 600 athletes from 40 countries, among which the national team of the Republic of Tajikistan stood out.
Youth gives the future: 7 medals for the piggy bank
Young athletes of Tajikistan aged 18-20 demonstrated a high level of skill and perseverance. In their piggy bank they brought seven shiny medals: two gold, two silver and three bronze. Odina Nazarov, Bezhan Khojaliev, Buzurgmehri Saifullozoda, Mudasir Sayvaliev, Yakub Safarov, Ibrahim Rakhimzoda and Manizha Samadova became real heroes of the tournament, winning well-deserved prizes.
Experience and skill of adults
Athletes of the Tajikistan national team in the 20+ category strengthened their triumph. Ten medals: including four gold, three silver and three bronze, were won by our heroes. Vahid Zahidzoda, Loik Ikromov, Otabek Radjabov, Kasym Sardorov, Masud Odinaev, Jovidon Makhmudov, Akrom Uzakov, Umar Safarov, Sarabeki Sirojiddin and Behruz Khurshedzoda wrote their names in the history of Tajik sports.
Medal ranking: Tajikistan at the top
In the overall medal standings at the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship among youth and adults, the Tajikistan team became the undisputed leader, winning 17 medals. This feat will be written in golden letters in the history of our sport and was the result of not only the talent and perseverance of the athletes, but also their careful preparation with the support of the Mixed Martial Arts Federation - TAJMMAF.
The future is full of hope: plans on the horizon
New horizons have opened up for Tajik athletes. Future plans promise continued successful performances supported by the Founder of Peace and Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon and the Youth and Sports Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Confidence in one’s own strengths, the talent of young athletes and the support of the most important institutions of the state create favorable conditions for new unique achievements in the future.
Tajikistan continues to write its history into the golden pages of world sports, and this World Mixed Martial Arts Championship was just another, but brilliant stage on this path.
